About Lisa
Lisa Luehman is a double board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of the Obesity Medicine Association, North American Menopause Society, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Lisa has over 15 years of experience working as a nurse and nurse practitioner in women's health, internal medicine and obesity medicine. Most recently, Lisa spent 7 years working with an obesity medicine specialist in the women's health department at WESTMED Medical Group.
Lisa specializes in medical weight loss and loves tugging on the heart strings of the entire family and getting everyone on a health journey. We’d be happy to work with your male partners as well. Much of Lisa’s experience has been in creating unique lifestyle plans, exercise modifications, and medication management while treating unique women’s health problems like polycystic ovarian syndrome, insulin resistance, and binge eating disorder. With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from The University of Minnesota, a second Bachelor’s in Nursing from New York University, and her Master’s degree from Pace University, Lisa brings a unique whole body perspective, thoroughness to detail, and passion for preventive medicine to her weight management and healthcare approach. Her favorite part of working with patients is building relationships.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Lisa worked as a registered nurse in a physical rehabilitation unit and as a labor and delivery nurse, experiencing first-hand the physiologic effects, diseases and mental struggles patient’s go through when carrying excess weight in daily life, through pregnancy and beyond. These experiences inspired her passion for empowering women and their families to make individualized plans to improve their health and daily lives.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 young daughters. She enjoys traveling, photography, wakeboarding, campfires, and is a porch and coffee enthusiast.
